The red pill please

I feel like I am seeing politics for the first time lately- I see an ad and it's as if I just swallowed the little red pill and now everything is clear . . and horrifying. What is the little red pill? Looking at political ads and speeches without the lens of rah-rah wing affiliated emotion. Take away your identification with either party, and the ads look absurd- completely narcissistic in regards to the person or our own country. In particular I am thinking of Rudy Guiliani's ad in regards to him being the last hope of mankind (America is the last great hope and Rudy is the only guy for America, so there you have it).
